Stephanie Goucher, CFP® is Founder and President of Cornerstone Financial Programs, Inc.
She started her career in 1984 working for an insurance based Financial Planning firm, and left in 1994 to start her own Independent Financial Planning Company. She received her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 1994 through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. She has worked with Professionals, Business Owners and Corporate Executives through the years helping them to develop and implement their Financial Plan in order to meet their life goals.
She has a B.A. in Management and Human Relations from Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.
She holds the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations in many states, as well as a life and health insurance license. She currently serves clients in a dozen states throughout the United States from Florida to California.
She is a past President of the Financial Planning Association of Greater Kansas City, and served on the board for 5 years of its predecessor the International Association for Financial Planning. She is currently a member of the Financial Services Institute. She has prepared several money makeovers through the years for the Kansas City Star, and has been quoted several times for this publication.
Stephanie and her husband Sam live in Lenexa, Kansas and have been married for over 40 years with two grown daughters and two grandsons. Her oldest daughter Haley was born 8 months after starting in this business, with Melissa following 3 years later. Having raised her family while in this business she is well-aware how planning for the future is beneficial as saving and paying for college allowed her daughters to both receive college degrees without debt. Haley is an M.D. Anesthesiologist and Critical Care Physician at Kansas University Medical Center and Melissa, recently married is now a Real Estate Sale professional serving her clients in both Kansas and Missouri. Stephanie’s father passed away in 2015 after years of caring for her mom, both in and out of memory care facilities, and she passed away in 2016 of late stage Alzheimers’ disease. Stephanie had served as their Durable Power of Attorney for many years and luckily planned for long term care with them 20 years prior which provided them with options offering them dignity during their final years without financial concerns.
When free time permits, she enjoys traveling, reading and walking the dog, however her greatest enjoyment is playing with Cannon and Leo, born 18 months apart in 2018 and 2019.
"I have one large extended family - as I care and worry about my clients as though they are family. I am lucky to be able to call them friends."
